Fatal collision on Hwy 4

    UPDATE:  Per CHP the woman who was killed in this collision was Carissa L. Schlaht (33) of Murphys.

  According to CHP on May 31, 2022 around 1:10 AM a woman from Altaville was driving a 2017 Ford Expedition

on Hwy 4 at Horseshoe Drive in Hathaway Pines at an unknown speed.

   For an unknown reason, she allowed her vehicle to leave the roadway and hit a large tree, overturning. A passerby saw the vehicle and called 911.

   The woman did not survive the collision and was pronounced deceased at the scene.  It is unknown i the use of alcohol and or drugs played a role in this collision.
