    August 6, 2022 at 4:20 PM:  A pedestrian has been reported walking in the middle of Hwy 49 at Fricot City Road outside San Andrea.

   Apparently he is holding a large bottle of booze.

Dogs killed on Hwy 108

     August 6, 2022 at 12 Noon:  A major injury collision has been reported on Hwy 108 (120) at Knights Ferry.

    Dogs have reportedly been killed. An ambulance is responding for a patient with major injuries. One person is still pinned in. Traffic is backed up.

Alpine County residents sue USFS

     The Tamarack Fire last year was allowed to spread by the USFS until it grew very large.

   The residents, who lost their homes, are now suing the USFS for negligence. The $85 million must be paid withing 6 months or it goes to court.

School closed due to COVID

    August 5, 2022 at 10 AM:  West Point Elementary School is closed today due to an outbreak of COVID.

   Apparently 1/2 of their staff and 1/4 of the students have COVID. They are part of Calaveras Unified School District.
