Truck with 20,000 lbs of fireworks

    Last week, Daniel Berlant at the office of the state Fire Marshal reports, a large moving

truck filled with 20,000 lbs of illegal fireworks was observed by an employee at the agricultual inspection station on the Nevada border.

   The truck was trying to enter California at a rural are of Mono County.

   Calfire and Mono County Sheriff's officers stopped and arrested the driver for felony violations.

   Illegal firewoks continuously pose a major threat that results in firefighters responding to hundreds of fires every year, according to Berlant.

   We all have to thank State Fire Marshall Berlant and the observant employee at the border for their good work to apprehend these felons.
