Hit and run on Hwy 88--Fire truck struck

    May 30, 2023 at 12 Noon:  A driver struck a parked fire truck that was training crews on Hwy 88 in Pioneer and left the scene.

   CHP is investigating.

    May 30, 2023 at 2:50 PM:  A collision has been reported at Milton Road and Hwy 4 in Milton.

   No injuries have been indicated. It is blocking the roadway. A tow truck is responding.

    May 30, 2023 at 1:45 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported at Hwy 108 and Bald Mountain Heliport Road above Long Barn.

   No injuries have been indicated. but one vehicle is leaking fuel.

Three poles down

    May 30, 2023 at 9:25 AM:  Three poles are down with lines in the roadway after a vehicle struck a pole on J59 at Hwy 108 in the Jamestown area.

   Apparently the driver tried to leave the scene and is wanted for no bail release violation.  One lane is currently blocked.

Truck hits cow on Hwy 88

    May 29, 2023 at 3:15 PM:  A pickup has struck a brown and white cow on Hwy 88 at Irishtown Road in Pine Grove.

   The poor animal is badly injured, but still trying to stand.   Speed kills innocent animals.

    May 29, 2023 at 9 AM:  A motorcycle has reportedly struck a deer on Hwy 120 at Lake Don Pedro.

 He was 87.

Body on Avery Sheep Ranch Road

     As of May 20, 2023 the Calaveras Sheriff has not released the name or any other information regarding the dead body found on Avery Sheep Ranch Road.

   The male body was discovered and pronounced dead at the scene by fire personnel on May 15, 2023 around 12:30 PM.

   The case is still under investigation, although no obvious signs of any foul play were observed.

Collision on Hwy 26

    May 15, 2023 at 3:35 PM:  A traffic collision has been reported on Hwy 26 at Rich Gulch Road in Glencoe.

   The vehicle has run off the roadway but is visible. Two CHP are en route to the scene.

    May 10, 2023 at 12 Noon:  A collision has been reported on Hwy 26 at Alpine Road, just this side of Hwy 99.

   One vehicle caught on fire and the person inside died at the scene. 

Rep. Santos arrested

      George Santos, who was arrested this morning by Federal authorities for alleged fraud and theft and lying to authorities, was arraigned just now.

   Santos plead not gulty to all counts.

    May 2, 2023:  Yesterday Sequoia Woods was full of golfers in shorts.  This morning the course is covered in snow.

   In fact, if you look at the live cam in Bear Valley you will see blizzard like snow.  Wierd winter and spring we are having.
