Fatal collision on Camp Nine Road

    According to CHP on August 22, 2023 around 1:30 PM they were dispatched to a collision

on Camp Nine Road.

   For an unknown reason Ronald Dean Waltrip (74) of Jamestown stopped his 1998 Jeep Wrangler and drove it in reverse, drifting off the roadway and up an embankment.

   The Jeep became unstable and Waltrip may have fallen or attempted to jump from the Jeep as it rolled onto the driver side and landed in the roadway atop of Waltrip.

   Waltrip succumbed to his injuries. No other vehicles were involved. This collision is still under investigation.
