Dear Editor:
I can bet you remember when several years ago a big fat man and braggart went to the
Calaveras Supervisors and said he had a million dollar grant approved for the Murphys Creek Theater club to take over the playhouse in Murphys. This was a total LIE!!!It, according to this man, some unpopular developer, made claims of remodeling the entire building with all kinds of money to spend.
Murphys Creek Theatre, it seems to me, did not want any children's theater groups to have any say in the theater.
As expected, the Board is made up of wanna be famous actors, etc, instead of businesspeople who could see it be successful.
The County owns the building a leases it for something like $1 to this group and it is again in deep trouble.
That Board of Supervisors made a bad decision and now the county is suffering for it. Good acting, popular plays or musicals, would be a start.
However nothing will change with the current board in control. Thank you for printing my letter.
A in Arnold

Went one time. Sorry, but just no quality there.
I think I remember that the supes gave the theater to political friends. Is that right?
My kids were involved in a theater group and supe callaway blocked us and put in her murphys creek friends when that building came up for lease. crooked???
Isn't that what the county always does. gives away things to their political buddies.
