Fire restrictions tighten in Stanislaus Forest

    As of July 9, 2024 the Stanislaus National Forest has new restrictions regarding fire

danger amid the heat wave.

   Prohibited activities are:

   Discharging a firearm

   Building, maintaining, attending or using a fire, campfire or stove fire except in developed recreation sites.

   Smoking, except within an enclosed vehicle or building, within an open developed recreation site or while stopped in an area at least three feet in diameter that is barfren or cleared of all flammable material

   Welding or operating an acetylene or other torch with an open flame

   Operating or using any internal or extermal combustion engine without a spark arresting device that is properly installed, maintained and in effective working order in accordance with the USFS standard 5100-1

   These restrictions are in effect until December 31, 2024.
