On June 30, 2024 around 8:35 PM Calaveras deputies were dispatched to Little John Road
near Copper Cove in Copperopolis.A toddler had been reported wandering in the street alone. When deputies arrived the mother was carrying the child and set it down on the hot pavement.
The mother was yelling a cars and behaving oddly. Another person picked up the child off the hot street. Officers went to the womans home.
Due to their belief that the woman was under the influence of a narcotic, she was arrested and the child put in protective custody.
