I am pleading with everyone in our Communities to refrain from using fireworks this evening, including Safe and Sane Fireworks.
Our Fire District has responded to over 20 fires in the last few months, including yesterday’s Residential Structure Fire, which destroyed the two-story home.
The fire was well involved before our firefighters arrived and started from a barbeque on the deck.
With the extreme temperatures, there are fires all over the State. I recommend that those who have purchased Safe and Sane Fireworks save them and celebrate New Year’s Eve. The grass will be green, and the fire threat will be reduced significantly.
We will have three Fire Engines and a Chief Officer patrolling the Fire District tonight, hoping to keep our communities safe from the fire threat.

Need help in getting Board of Supervisors to approve the ban on fireworks. Tuolumne and Amador counties have bans. We are the only ones too dumb to see the light.
