Two die in Hwy 12 collision

    According to the CHP, on September 1, 2024 around 9:25 PM  John Thomas Earl Bandy (23) of San Andreas was driving

his 1993GMC SIerra on Hwy 12 near Brauns Way in Valley Springs at an unknown speed.

    Dylan Douglas Butler (22) was driving his 2024 Ford Mustang in the opposite direction on Hwy 12 at an undown speed, with one passenger Faith Irene Robinson Romero (21) in the front seat right.

   For a yet to be determined reason Bandy failed to negotiate a right hand curve in the roadway and the GMC crossed over the dougle solid yellow line, directly into the path of the Mustang.

   Both Bandy and Romero succumbed to their injuries at the scene. Butler was transported to Doctors Medical Center with major injuries.

   The collision is still under investigation, including the use of alcohol and or drugs.
