    On first glance, it seems that Alvarado-Gil changed from Democrat to Republican simply

because District 4 (including Calaveras) is majority GOP voters.

   However, just after she made the change, a lawsuit was filed by a male staffer for sexual discrimination. Since the Republican Party obviously condones that type of thing, she may have been forced to move out of the Democratic Party?
